A rapidly scaled industry

In a 7 September 2026 commentary, the IEA described a global lithium-ion battery market worth more than USD 150 billion. It reported that annual battery demand in 2025 was almost 1,000 times its 2000 level, while average cell prices had fallen by 97% over that period.

What storage buyers should compare

Our interpretation: a lower cell price is not the same as a lower installed storage-system price. Buyers still need to compare the proposed battery, power conversion, controls, thermal management, warranty terms and operating conditions as one system.

  • Request model-specific technical and safety documentation.
  • Define the intended duty cycle and site environment.
  • Record responsibilities for commissioning and ongoing support.

The IEA figures describe a global market trend. They do not state Ecoreesun's battery pricing, manufacturing capacity or the performance of a particular project.
